Was uns verbindet, ist unser Anspruch an uns selbst: Wir wollen Themen differenziert und sensibel angehen, dabei aber eine klare Haltung einnehmen – und natürlich gute Fotos machen. Wir sind überzeugt, dass die Arbeit im Kollektiv ein zukunftsträchtiger und notwendiger Gegenentwurf zum Geniekult des männlichen Journalisten ist.
Wir wollen uns gegenseitig in unserer Arbeit hinterfragen und herausfordern. Aber wir wollen uns auch bestärken, um neue Arbeitsformen zu wagen und große Themen anzugehen.
We are ECHTROT. At the end of 2023, we came together in Hannover as a collective – to work collaboratively, support one another, and explore new paths in journalism. What unites us is our shared commitment: we aim to approach topics with nuance and sensitivity, while maintaining a clear stance – and, of course, to take strong photographs.
We believe that working as a collective is a forward-looking and necessary alternative to the cult of the male journalistic genius. We want to challenge and question each other’s work – but also encourage one another to take risks, explore new ways of working, and tackle major topics.
Antonia Teichert (1998) works as a freelance documentary photographer and graphic designer, and she currently lives in Hanover. Her focus is on socio-political questions about urban spaces, interpersonal relationships, identity and self-image.
